Your donations are more important than ever.

Spring has arrived and Animal Ark’s volunteers are once again back at our shelter caring for our cats and dogs. Our dog walkers will certainly have raincoats and galoshes at the ready for the predicted deluge of rain. The cats will certainly gaze out the window wondering why anyone would choose to walk in the rain.
Among our new arrivals who will enjoy a walk is Yeti, pictured below. Yeti came to us this week from a bad situation. A young child moved into his home and it turns out Yeti didn’t respond well to the extra stimulation. Yeti was scheduled to be assessed for adoption-vs.-euthanasia at another shelter. That’s when Animal Ark stepped in.
It turns out that Yeti is quite an affectionate, well-behaved boy. Like many “problem” pets, he simply needed the right environment. Several prospective families have already reached out about Yeti and we’re confident he’ll be in the right forever home very soon.
Dogs and cats with behavioral and/or medical issues are called Special Needs Animals at Animal Ark, and we keep a fund on hand to provide for their lodging and training. We expend as much time and effort as is necessary to ensure that a dog or cat is ready for a forever home. Yeti would likely not have had much of a chance elsewhere. At Animal Ark, he’s bound for a loving forever home shortly after entering our care.
Your donations make this possible, and we appreciate it. Last week’s Give at Home MN Campaign helped our situation somewhat, but Animal Ark still faces a deficit in light of our biggest fundraiser of the year, the 3K Walk, being canceled due to COVID. If you can spare a donation to provide food, shelter and behavioral/medical care to special dogs like Yeti, please click here. On behalf of the staff, volunteers and residents of Animal Ark: THANK YOU for your support!
