As noted in Animal Ark’s most recent email newsletter, March brings with it some fairly predictable occurrences.
- The first tantalizing signs of spring;
- The inevitable snowstorm crushing hopes of spring; and
- Kittens. Lots and lots of kittens.
March begins kitten season which means an influx of these adorable and plentiful critters on Animal Ark’s doorstep. As a result, Animal Ark is shining the “Cat Signal,” à la Batman, into the sky asking for fosters to host litters of kittens in their homes.
The more fosters we have, the more kittens we can take in and eventually re-home. And being a kitten foster is easier than you might think. All we need from you is a loving, warm home for approximately eight weeks. We provide everything else: Food, education, everything. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to bask in utter cuteness for eight weeks while helping a great cause at the same time. If you have room in your home and heart for a litter of kittens beginning sometime in March, please visit our Foster page. A specialist will contact you shortly and help you determine if fostering is right for you.
And please note that if an energetic batch of kittens isn’t your style, Animal Ark has any number of other eligible pets seeking foster families as a way-stop on their path to forever homes. Fostering is a great way to test the waters of pet ownership. If you’ve recently lost an aged pet, or if you’re not 100% sure your household is suited to long-term pet ownership, fostering is a unique way to acclimate yourself into having a furry companion under your roof.

(And yes, these are just a couple of the many pets eligible for a foster family!)
As noted above, we provide everything our fosters need…but our donors make it happen. Please consider visiting our Donation page to help us weather the upcoming kitten storm as well as our day-to-day needs. Animal Ark maintains an up-to-date Amazon Wishlist featuring items like food, cat litter, blankets and toys to keep our residents comfortable until they find their forever homes.
