It’s Giving Tuesday: A national day of benevolence!
Fresh on the heels of our Give to the Max campaign, Animal Ark is asking for your support on Giving Tuesday. We came closer to our Give to the Max Day goal than we thought possible, and your support is appreciated! We still have quite a budget gap to fill, however, so we hope you’ll consider visiting our Giving Tuesday page on Facebook and contributing what you can. And for those who shun social media (who can blame you?) you may of course donate via our website.
Giving Tuesday also means volunteerism. It’s a sunny day in Minnesota, most of the snow has melted and temperatures are mild. It’s a great day to pick up trash in your neighborhood, or visit an elderly neighbor to see if they could use a little help grocery shopping. It’s also a great day to walk a dog, or two, or a half-dozen. Coincidentally enough, we have them in abundance at Animal Ark! Every day our tireless dog and cat volunteers visit our shelter and walk the dogs and play with the cats. If you’d like to volunteer at our shelter please fill out a volunteer application. We could also use business- and office-savvy folks to staff our phones and greet guests, so if you have an hour or two (or a half-dozen) to spare during your week to help a great cause, please consider Animal Ark!
Finally, speaking of giving, we’d like to thank Stein Haus in Vermillion and Southfork Animal Hospital in Lakeville. Both organizations reached out to us and offered to host holiday fundraisers! They will collect items and deliver them to Animal Ark in time for the holidays. We appreciate their support more than we can say. In an economy ravaged by the pandemic, it’s amazing and touching that businesses and individuals still seek ways to give back. We encourage you to visit both businesses to show your support!
