We recently posted an urgent need for foster care. A stray German shepherd with eight pups was found abandoned. Animal Ark agreed to take the dogs in until foster care could be arranged. When we make such an entreaty, we never know how soon it will be answered: Today? Tomorrow? Perhaps not at all.
However, we are pleased to announce that mom and pups have already found a foster home. This is a tremendous relief to us and, of course, the dogs. They were discovered by chance in an untenable situation and the subsequent chain of events put into motion by a network of compassionate people have resulted in a home being found for nine, count ’em nine, dogs.
Our heartfelt thanks to the foster who agreed to take in these dogs, and of course to our countless other fosters who selflessly toil behind the scenes while forever homes are found for their foster pets.

Speaking of volunteering…
Our next New Volunteer Orientation occurs Saturday, March 7, from 10-11 a.m.
BECOME FAMILY to our Dogs and Cats! Sometimes the loving bond between Volunteers and the animals they visit grows so strong that they stay in touch after the animals find their Forever Homes. You’ll also meet some wonderful people who share your passion. Join us to learn more, and bring a friend!
IMPORTANT: Go to our volunteer page and complete the Volunteer Application. Then, read the informative documents listed at the bottom of the screen. It’s all stuff you need to know. We’ll have copies to sign at the Orientation. Also, please bring a valid ID and an insurance card with you. You need to show them in order to work with the animals. It’s for everybody’s protection.
