Shooting, poisoning, trapping for the purpose of killing, or otherwise harming cats because they are using your garden as a litter box is a criminal act. This is animal cruelty plain and simple, and it carries serious legal consequences, including fines, criminal charges, and potential jail time. There is no gray area here.
We are calling on our community to do better. Society must evolve forward, not fall backward into cruelty, ignorance, and violence. There are humane, proven solutions available, and choosing harm instead is a deliberate and unlawful decision.

If your concern is your garden, address it responsibly:
Use scent deterrents, cats are highly sensitive to smell. Lavender, peppermint, or cinnamon mixed with water can help keep them away.
Citrus is highly effective. Scatter lemon or orange peels or spray diluted lemon juice or vinegar in problem areas.
These solutions are safe, humane, and effective, and they don’t involve committing a crime.
This is bigger than a garden. This is about accountability, compassion, and the kind of community we choose to be.
Cruelty has no place here, and silence is not an option.
